Groß Pampau, GR, c. 500,000 BP, Site, Characteristic Tools, Bifaces / m)pampaubifillust

Comment: Pampau bifaces #6, #7, and #9 compared. Each has deep flake removal upper left side, in each case with a span of approximately 6.5 cm. Purpose of such flaking has not been determined. The thinness of the bifaces supports a dating to the early Later Acheulian, c. 500,000 BP.
