MP Gallery - Markings, Signs, Graphemes; k) oldisleben120bednarik8

"One of the oldest known portable engravings, from Oldisleben 1 in Germany, c. 120,000 years old" (Bednarik, R. at http://www.semioticon.com/virtuals/symbolicity/BednarikFig8.html)

Comment (James Harrod): 20 stroke marks in two sets, each set with parallel strokes. This appears categorizable as Type A iterative stroke marks, i.e., single, paired or multiple, usually parallel; it is roughly similar to the Early Paleolithic markings at Bilzingsleben, and thus may be viewed as a continuation of that marking motif, but now it appears arranged in two sets, perhaps another example of MP 'pairing', characteristic of MP mind as noted by Robert Bednarik.
