HK148b Aterian Hut Site, Har Karkom, Israel, Gallery 1 -- SE Sector
c. greater than 100,000 to 24,000 BP; j) hk148b #2

Aterian hutfloor HK 148b, SE Sector, artifact #2.

Tentative interpretation (James Harrod): Dorcas gazelle or possibly a roan antelope, scimitar-horned oryx, ibex or barbary sheep. All these have arcing horns similar to those that are suggested on this artifact. Note chip suggesting eye. The shape of the head/muzzle seems most like that of a dorcas gazelle.
